Kate Murray-Fuerth, B.A., CAP

Kate Murray-Fkate, profile picuerth is a Certified Aromatologist specializing in Organic Skin Care and Aroma-Health treatments. She is passionate about helping clients of all ages to overcome their struggles with health and well-being and uses Essential Oils as part of her treatment plans.

She works with clients who have been pre-diagnosed with a variety of skin and health issues and specializes in creating custom treatments for skin care concerns such as dry skin, oily skin, acne, eczema and psoriasis, and for health concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, minor digestive issues, muscle pain and more. She takes a holistic approach to her aromatherapy treatments and looks to treat the whole person, tailoring treatments to fit the needs of the individual.

She also offers Custom Natural Perfume Blending Sessions and will offer Aromatherapy Facials beginning in late Summer, 2016. She is the energy behind NB Naturals, a line of Aromatherapeutic Personal Care products now available for purchase in the clinic.

Kate’s journey into the world of Aromatherapy started when she was invited to ingest a few drops of lemon essential oil by a sales rep in early 2014 – she couldn’t help but feel there was something potentially dangerous about ingesting essential oils and committed to learning more for her own health.  Since then, she has extensively researched and studied essential oil safety and is passionate about educating clients and members of the public about the safe use of essential oils.

She graduated with a B.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Windsor and went on to study Aromatherapy through a CFA-accredited school in Guelph, ON. She is a registered Aromatologist with the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA) and is thrilled to be a part of the Vibrant Living Team!

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils for the improvement or maintenance of health and/or beauty. Aromatherapists/Aromatologists (Aromatherapists who don’t practice massage) in Canada are Holistic Aromatherapists. They do not diagnose illness or disease, but instead treat pre-existing conditions from a whole-lifestyle perspective.

What are Essential Oils?

Essential Oils are highly concentrated liquid distillations of various plant parts including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, buds, and bark. They are extremely potent and many have wonderful healing and disinfecting properties. Essential oils are used in Aromatherapy as treatment either topically or via inhalation. They should never be ingested unless under the direction of a Medical or Naturopathic doctor.

What is the benefit of seeing an Aromatherapist?

An Aromatherapist can direct and oversee your use of essential oils to ensure you are using them safely. S/he can also treat specific pre-diagnosed conditions with essential oils and create customized treatments that are tailored to the individual. The major benefit to customized treatments is that persistent skin or health care concerns receive targeted attention, often resulting in a more effective solution to the problem than a one-size-fits-all treatment.
