Welcome Mamas to the first step in creating a VIBRANT relationship with your body, mind and spirit.  Motherhood is a rite of passage, whether you are expecting your first child or have been mothering for decades.  Now more than ever, with the rise in depression and anxiety, heart disease, hormone dysfunction, autoimmune diseases and an overall feeling of lack of energy and purpose, as women and mothers, we are being called to dig deeper and ask WHY?

My name is Jessika Marie, creator of Mavens for Mama and mama of 3 children, ages ranging across 18 years, giving me a unique perspective on mothering across a broad spectrum of phases and ages, my own, and my children’s.

Over the last 13 years, I have dedicated my work to serving both family and community by providing services that include but are not limited to:  yoga and meditation, conscious childbirth support and preparation, holistic nutrition consulting, functional medicine coaching, energy medicine, women’s circles and mother blessings, public speaking and more.  Most recently after a mentorship with Kimberly Ann Johnson, authour of The Fourth Trimester: A Postpartum Guide to Healing Your Body, Balancing Your Emotions and Restoring your Vitality I have narrowed my field to work specifically with mothers and mothers-to-be. My intention is to serve as both a lighthouse and sounding board for women as they cross the threshold from maiden to mother.  However, knowing from experience we are not always provided with this opportunity at the time of our crossing, we may need to begin this work later in our motherhood journey, to renegotiate patterns, stories and trauma that may be lingering and affecting our life currently, within our mothering, our primary relationships, our work and our health. To those mamas - this work is available to you too!

I am a woman on the path, dedicated to serving women as they move through the always evolving, ever present, totally necessary call to create a compassionate, empowering and embodied relationship with themselves, their family and community.  I am currently renegotiating my relationship to sex, motherhood, work and pleasure and invite those I work with to do the same!

I have been featured in The Holistic Parent Magazine, Women from the Blog and am in collaboration with several ‘Mavens for Mama’ in our community including; Amma Yoga, Sarah DePoray, Tania Heinemann IBCLC, Selam Debs of Juici Yoga and more.  My work is complementary to the work you are doing with your Naturopath, Functional Medicine Doctor, Osteopath, Pelvic Floor Therapist, Energy Medicine Practitioner, Primary Practitioner or other Alternative Care Provider.

My specialities include:

  • movement, meditation and MBS (mind, body, spirit) practices

WHAT IS SACRED WINDOW SUPPORT?

Mavens for Mama will work with Mama during her third trimester to support her as she prepares for her ‘Sacred Window’ or ‘First Forty Days’ after the birth of her child.

Many traditions around the world acknowledge the importance of ‘staying in’ during the first six weeks after giving birth.  This allows Mama to heal in a nurturing environment, create and strengthen the bonding between her, her partner and child, safeguard against future ailments such as autoimmune diseases and pelvic floor injury or weakness and create the framework for her future vitality.

In the absence of a village, it is crucial that Mamas receive support from other women and mothers.

In our time together we will:

  • prepare nourishing, warming foods for postpartum
  • create a resource directory for local practitioners, support groups and personal support
  • create a plan for visitors and how they can best support you during your Sacred Window
  • create and talk through ways to safeguard your relationship with your partner once baby arrives
  • create a relationship with your pelvic bowl with mediations, journaling
  • talk about movement and mindfulness during the first forty days
  • create a vaginal steaming postpartum plan
  • so much more!
