“At the center of your being, you have the answer. You know who you are and you know what you want.” Lao Tzu
Living well means learning to deal wisely with the changes and challenges that come our way. There are times when life’s difficulties cause us to explore getting help. We have not failed. We simply need new tools and skills to guide us along a better path - we are being called to grow and do things differently! Successful change can be difficult work but life’s obstacles offer us powerful springboards to personal transformation. Through our difficulties we grow in ways we may never have thought possible.
I support adult clients navigating a variety of issues including depression & anxiety, relationship & parenting challenges, self-esteem & body image, health & chronic pain, grief & loss, workplace stress, life transitions, as well as issues unique to aging women. I offer supportive counselling that allows you to define your personal goals and create a plan for real change. Maybe you recognize yourself in one of the following scenarios:
Are you lacking the energy to fully engage with your life and experience the joy around you? Focusing on behavioural change, I draw on my experience as a mindfulness practitioner and lifestyle coach to support clients as they grow to be more present, engaged, and content with themselves and with the people who matter most to them.
Are feelings of depression and/or anxiety becoming barriers to living the life you want to live? I use mindfulness-based counselling to help clients develop new skills & tools to work with the challenging emotions which are often at the root of depression and anxiety. By creating more helpful thinking & behaviour patterns and increasing resiliency, powerful shifts can take place. I continue to benefit personally from mindfulness skills and tools and remain enthusiastic about sharing them with others.
Are your relationships suffering as you struggle to maintain a positive outlook on your life or work situation? As a spouse of many years and mother of two young adults, I understand the challenges in building healthy relationships and work from a place of trust, respect and positive communication allowing clients the opportunity to understand their feelings and learn to connect more deeply with others. As you become more self-aware and gain new skills to work with your personal situation, you are on the path to positive change.
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to best meet client needs with a special interest and training in mindfulness-based therapies such as MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). Where appropriate, we may choose to explore self-compassion and body awareness as pathways to support your work through past trauma. As a former public school teacher and present day yoga instructor, I am passionate about facilitating psycho-education group programs as an additional therapy option. By applying my special interest in Spiritually-integrated Psychotherapy, I also assist individuals in “making meaning” of their lives and navigating significant life transitions. Together we refine your self-awareness and inner wisdom as key foundations for personal growth.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through my association with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

A little more about Michele…
When I’m not offering counselling to others, I try to pursue my interests and do the things I love. In the warmer weather, this means getting outside as much as possible where I enjoy gardening, hiking, cycling, camping and spending time in nature. My other pursuits include singing, cross-country skiing, meditation, playing the guitar, creating new recipes in the kitchen and getting out for some live music. Whatever the season, spending time with family & friends has a spot near the top of my “to do list”.
