Massage Therapy for Active Adults & Athletes
Ken has spent 26 years helping people stay active and work through pain. He focuses on the overuse injuries, muscle imbalances and chronic pain that affect athletes as they age, from recreational runners to highly competitive athletes.
He graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Newmarket in 1999, after studying Psychology and Biological Sciences at the University of Guelph. Since then he has balanced private practice, including 14 years at Waterloo Sports Medicine Centre, with 18 years teaching in Massage Therapy programs at both community and private colleges. Ken believes each role has sharpened the other: teaching keeps his clinical work current, and clinical work keeps his teaching grounded.
Outside the clinic, Ken swims and runs marathons. He is also writing a non-fiction book on current pain science and drug-free approaches to managing pain.
As a parent of three and an aging athlete himself, Ken especially enjoys working with busy parents who want to stay active for the long haul. He calls it “aging with grace.”
