With the awesome sun shining down on us (finally!), summer certainly feels like it’s here. Spending plenty of time outdoors is a great way to get some vitamin D naturally and enjoy the benefits of nature. It’s also important to remember to find a good sunscreen – one that protects but that doesn’t contain potentially harmful chemical ingredients.
The Environmental Working Group recently released it’s 10th annual Guide to Sunscreens. After rigorous testing, they’ve rated sunscreens according to category: best sunscreen for sports and the beach, best sunscreen for kids, best sunscreen with a built-in moisturizer, and the list goes on.

The EWG also has some great recommendations for making sunscreen your last go-to for sun protection. Covering the skin with light, breathable clothing, finding the shade, wearing sunglasses and checking the UV index are all great ways to protect yourself from the sun before resorting to sunscreen.
